The LB Network has the biggest collection of
LB programs (source provided). It is also the home of the Message Board
and the Chat room. LBN will also host your LB website for FREE! If
you use LB - you must have this site in your
bookmarks
Feast on a tremendous selection of: Games and Sprite
Animation tutorials, Games programs, API reference, API examples, etc. All my
Graphics contributions are based on the things I learnt here! If you're
into graphics - this is the place to learn!
Tom and Alyce Watson have compiled a list of the
programs contributed by other LBers - this list describes where you can download
each of the programs.
Home of a number of Liberty Basic development
tools. These tools are written in LB and are available as shareware.
The unregistered versions do not provide the full capabilities found in the
registered version - but they are still powerful development tools
none-the-less. ToolBox 3.0 is an excellent example, providing many
capabilities (too numerous to mention here) and I would recommend this product
to anyone developing LB programs.
This is Michael T Rankin's page. He's only
just started it up - so there's just a couple of programs to download, but I'm
sure that there will be more to come in the future. Michael is the a
winner of the SOA award - so what he lacks in quantity at the moment, is well
and truly made up by QUALITY! and the site looks TERRIFIC! A simple
concept that looks extremely professional (creative people like this make me
green with envy).
A great site for new LBers. Lets you know
where to find all that essential information - like the Messages boards, how to
subscribe to the Email list, etc. Has started a FAQ (Frequently Asked
Questions) page and also offers to provide you some assistance with your
problems.
This is the site to visit to look for the API calls
that have been translated to LB. Doyle has done a truly great job of
indexing these calls for easy online access - well done Doyle.
Are you sick of searching for Freeware because
you find the things offerred are ShareWare, NagWare, CrippleWare, etc.
This site has the most comprehensive list of 100% Freeware that I have every
come across. Put into categories, descriptions, file size, etc. A truly
GREAT site.
The site is maintained by one of our LBers - Kim
Harrington (Kim won the SOA award for her sprite demo). If you are looking
for sounds and voices to add to your LB games programs, or if just want to make
Windows sound even more irritating (is that possible????) this is the
place to go. The biggest collection I have seen - plus Kim offers to do
your requests - for sounds that is!!!!
I have watched Tonto's site grow from a smattering
of an idea into a truly professional Windows Resources page. Tonto
provides Windows Tips and Tricks plus gives you links to other great Windows
Resources pages. And if you want to take a break from computer stuff,
Tonto comes from Dampier in Western Australia, named after William Dampier, the
bucaneer-explorer from the 1600's. You can read a bit of exciting history
about this colourful character.
One of my favourite relaxations (away from the
keyboard, that is), is Australian Bush Poetry. On this well-presented site
you will find poetry about hardship, mateship and everything else concerned with
life in our rugged country. Some will make you laugh, others will make you
cry - and you will see the best definition of "Australian Mateship" expressed in
poetry. This site is a 'must-see' for anyone who is interested in culture from
another country.
